....following a totally awesome and satisfying day that hubby and I shared at a day Spa, is just what the doctor ordered, following my 3rd night of sleeplessness....
...in the past 3 nights I have enjoyed a total of probably not more than 12 hours sleep, that's out of 72 hours! Strangely I zonked out at around 10PM last night only to be woken 2 hours later by our 3yr old who made his way to our bed and an hour later, I was bright eyed and bushy-tailed!
Made our way to the day Spa about 7.30 in the morning, welcomed with champagne and orange juice, changed into comfy Spa-wear and breakfasted on muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit (melon) mini-skewers, a small muffin and coffee. Thereafter we enjoyed a hand massage and a grape seed oil and hot stone full body massage before relaxing to the soothing sounds of a rapidly flowing river and a funny "battle" between an iguana and an elusive water duck. Next followed a grape seed oil and sugar foot massage, which set the tone for an awesome head and shoulder massage with sesame seed oil. Lunch was chicken breast fillets, with a wholegrain mustard sauce, a lettuce, onion, cherry tomato and feta cheese salad we passed on the offer of dessert which consisted of fruit salad, black forest cake, chocolate ganache and coffee ice cream(wow!) Water intake in total today was just over 2 litres. The afternoon session consisted of a facial that put a refreshing spin on the massages and we rounded the awesome day off with a sea-salt and almond oil exfoliating full-body scrub. We left completely "overhauled" and were anxious to get back to our boys...a perfect ending to a day filled with love, exciting couple re-discovery and pampering to foremostly celebrate our life together.
Dinner back home consisted of a grilled chicken breast tikka from last night and a quarter cup lentils with brinjal. I missed my green tea enormously so I'm onto my fourth cup now! Amazingly the 4th days cap taken at 6am today is still working well....I wasn't tempted to take in any more than was served...and I'm still comfortably sated after dinner.
I'm hoping that today's' pamper sessions will aide my sleep patterns and at least see me getting in a full nights sleep....I definitely need to it as my body clock will be out of whack come Thursday after the long flight to the Big Apple! ....writing of which, I'd better go sort out my luggage.....
