Vegging it

Meat abstaining is proving interesting....never thought that I could do without meat, but it's actually great fun!

The family is currently observing the hindu meat abstaining fast of Pitr Paksha (Prayer for the dead) where no meat, alcohol and other intoxicants are consumed. It's basically a a cleansing ritual and run up to the hindu festival of lights, Diwali. So far so good and I'm actually enjoying the blend of veggies and accompaniements although veggies only is something harsh on the plumbing!

Weight's down by 5.3kg this morning and not quite two weeks up yet, so I guess the proper eating is paying off. I'm hoping to lose at least 10kgs buy the time I leave for the US during the first week of October, but realise that even if I don't, the weight that's gone over the past two weeks has lightened my load!

So my ancestors and dearly departed family, if you're reading this, provide me with the strength and willpower to keep me on the straight and narrow on my voyage of discovery to this weightloss Utopia place...enjoying some of your favourite meals albeit a slightly altered version than that you enjoyed. Love and peace unto you all!
